About Us www.rideawish.com

Leigh Aiken is highly skilled in recognizing an individual’s special needs. She has a unique background that qualifies her for the role of a therapeutic riding instructor.

Born and raised in Georgia, Leigh graduated from a local High School in Marietta.  She went on to gain her Bachelor of Science in Psychology,  and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Services at Auburn University.  Additionally, she received a certificate in American Sign Language.  Throughout her undergraduate studies, she rode on the collegiate equestrian team and competed at a national level.

With the combination of personal experience and advanced education, Leigh is able to cater to a variety of people with many types of disabilities.

Leigh recognizes the impact that family, friends, medical doctors and/or therapists have in an individual's success in life.  Also, trained horses and certified instructors can be used as aids to treat a blend of cognitive,  physical and/or emotional complications.  All of these elements are joined for a participant with special needs in a therapeutic horse riding program.

Now her desire is to relay hope to others in need of an improvement in life.
